Розглянуто проблему національної ідентичності в контексті культуротворчих процесів у сучасній Україні. З’ясовано, що культура як механізм укорінення ідентичності в умовах російсько-української війни виконує одну з найбільш значимих функцій національного усвідомлення українців і потребує особливої уваги. Наголошено на необхідності перманентно переосмислювати духовну спадщину, формувати механізми її повернення, збереження й захисту. Описано феномени звичаєвості і традиції української хорової культури й сучасний стан її розвитку. Зазначено, що конкурс хорових диригентів становить важливий чинник консолідації сучасного хорового виконавства. Визначено основні принципи формування мистецьких традицій на прикладі проведення Конкурсу хорових диригентів імені О. С. Тимошенка як важливого механізму універсалізації норм і цінностей вітчизняної хорової культури, який зміцнює її минуле, визначає теперішнє і програмує майбутнє в їх нерозривній цілісності. Охарактеризовано цей конкурс як знакову подію в історії українського хорового мистецтва, як важливий елемент культуротворчих процесів, які формують історію сучасної України, надаючи їй відповідних смислів і значень. Розглянуто Конкурс диригентів як спосіб поєднати традиції, погляди й переконання митців різних регіонів України. Розроблено механізми повернення забутих імен українських митців на протидію практиці їх привласнення, властиву діям агресора. Проаналізовано програму конкурсу, наголошено на свідомому доборі творів для кожного туру. Розглянуто хоровий спів як важливий елемент національної історичної та культурної свідомості. Осмислено культуру хорового співу як універсальну категорію «звичаю», завдяки якій сформовано потужну традицію. Вказано визначальні критерії, які стали запорукою перемоги конкурсантів: філігранна мануальна техніка, відчуття стилю, досконала методика роботи з хором, відповідність композиторського задуму та інтерпретаційних рішень. Зазначено переможців і лауреатів Конкурсу. Доведено, що Конкурс хорових диригентів є не тільки ефективним засобом поєднання традицій, поглядів й переконання митців різних регіонів України, а й логічним продовженням творчої біографії О. С. Тимошенка.
The article examines the issue of national identity in the context of cultural-creative processes in contemporary Ukraine. It is emphasized that culture, as a mechanism for rooting identity, plays one of the most significant roles in the national self-awareness of Ukrainians under the conditions of the Russian-Ukrainian war and thus requires special attention. Emphasis is placed on the continuous rethinking of spiritual heritage and the creation of sustainable mechanisms for its revival, preservation, and protection. The article describes the phenomena of customary practice and tradition in Ukrainian choral culture and the current state of its development. It is noted that the choral conducting competition represents an important factor in consolidating modern choral performance. The core principles of forming artistic traditions are identified through the example of the O. S. Tymoshenko Choral Conducting Competition, viewed as a key mechanism for the universalization of norms and values within Ukraine’s choral culture — one that reinforces its past, defines its present, and shapes its future as an indivisible whole.The competition is characterized as a landmark event in the history of Ukrainian choral art and as a crucial element of cultural-creative processes that contribute meaning and value to the historical narrative of contemporary Ukraine. By bringing together artists from various regions, the competition fosters a dialogue between diverse traditions, perspectives, and creative philosophies. In response to the aggressor’s systematic appropriation of cultural legacy, strategic mechanisms have been devised to reclaim and restore the memory of marginalized and forgotten Ukrainian artists. The competition program is subjected to critical analysis, with particular emphasis on the intentional curation of repertoire for each round — a process that reflects a deep engagement with cultural meaning and historical continuity. Choral singing is not merely approached as an artistic practice, but as a foundational medium of collective memory and national consciousness. Within this context, the tradition of choral performance is interpreted as a universal cultural category — a manifestation of “custom” that has historically functioned as a vessel for preserving, transmitting, and regenerating Ukrainian identity across generations. The article outlines key criteria that ensured the participants’ success: refined manual technique, stylistic sensitivity, excellent choral rehearsal methods, and alignment between the composer's intent and interpretative decisions. The winners and laureates of the competition are listed. It is proven that the Choral Conducting Competition serves not only as an effective tool for uniting artistic traditions and viewpoints across Ukraine but also as a logical continuation of O. S. Tymoshenko’s creative biography.
