Культурна й історична пам’ять в осмисленні феномену ідентичності України

Abstract

Розглянуто проблему культурної та історичної пам’яті в осмисленні ідентичності України. Описано історію, її мистецькі здобутки, їхній естетичний та «когнітивний характер» як дієві інструменти легітимізації процесів і явищ, об’єктивної дійсності. З’ясовано сутність історичної пам’яті, її комплексність, багатогранність і всеосяжність у сферах культури, мистецьких практик, естетичних надбань. Акцентовано нагальну потребу в заповненні прогалин, що утворилися в минулому вітчизняної культури, забезпечивши їх належну інтерпретацію. Порушено питання щодо подолання результатів негативного, травматичного досвіду українців як нації, яка протягом тривалого часу зазнавала руйнації суб’єктності, знищення державності, обмежень прав і свобод, зазіхань на незалежність і територіальну цілісність. Досліджено суб’єктність як категорію і властивість, яка сформована об’єктивно, задана наперед і досягається тільки усвідомленою практикою генерування історичного змісту. Зазначено, що в екстремальних умовах війни, тобто загрози повного знищення — фізичного, ментального й духовного, — відбувається формування суб’єктності нації загалом і кожного громадянина зокрема. Наголошено на необхідності перманентного переосмислення феноменів соціокультурного простору з подальшим розкриттям їхньої семантичної сутності. Обґрунтовано тези про те, що: українці, поєднані ідеєю національного усвідомлення, мають сформувати основу для національного зміцнення й порозуміння; нація кристалізується, насамперед, завдяки свободам демократії. Здійснено оцінку феноменів досвіду, історичної та культурної свідомості й пам’яті. Висвітлено основні принципи формування історичного змісту з можливістю об’єктивного оцінювання дійсності та інтерпретування історичних процесів. Доведено, що історичний зміст — це досвід минулого, закріплений здебільшого в суб’єктності, і тому, через наукове пізнання, його нейтрально-незаангажовані принципи має відбутися ізоляція суб’єктності з преференцією на об’єктивність та неупередженість.

The article examines the issue of cultural and historical memory in the conceptualization of Ukrainian identity. It outlines the national historical trajectory and artistic achievements, emphasizing their aesthetic and “cognitive” nature as effective instruments for legitimizing social processes and phenomena of objective reality. The essence of historical memory is defined, highlighting its complexity, multidimensionality, and universality within the spheres of culture, artistic practices, and aesthetic heritage. The study emphasizes the urgent need to fill the gaps formed in the past of Ukrainian culture by ensuring their proper interpretation. The research raises the issue of overcoming the consequences of the negative and traumatic experiences of Ukrainians as a nation that, for a long time, suffered the destruction of its subjectivity, the loss of statehood, the restriction of rights and freedoms, and encroachments on independence and territorial integrity. Subjectivity is examined as both a category and a property — objectively shaped, predetermined, and achievable only through the conscious practice of generating historical meaning. It is noted that under the extreme conditions of war — when there is a threat of total physical, mental, and spiritual annihilation — the subjectivity of the nation as a whole, and of each citizen individually, is being formed. The paper stresses the necessity of continuous reinterpretation of the phenomena of the sociocultural space, accompanied by the disclosure of their semantic essence. The author substantiates that Ukrainians, united by the idea of national consciousness, must create the foundation for national consolidation and mutual understanding, and that the crystallization of the nation occurs primarily through the freedoms ensured by democracy. The study assesses the phenomena of experience, historical and cultural consciousness, and memory, and elucidates the fundamental principles of forming historical meaning, enabling an objective evaluation of reality and interpretation of historical processes. It is demonstrated that historical meaning represents the experience of the past, predominantly embodied in subjectivity. Therefore, through scientific cognition and the application of neutral, unbiased principles, the isolation of subjectivity should occur with a preference for objectivity and impartiality.
