dc.description.abstract Ukrainian vocal music in terms of performance is attracting more and more attention from both audiences and scientists. Of course, such interest is connected primarily with the talent of domestic singers, with unsurpassed timbres of voices, with the charisma of individual features. Therefore, the study of the peculiarities of Ukrainian vocal art in the performing aspect becomes relevant. The author of the chapter considers Ukrainian vocal performance to be a treasure in the European cultural space. Ukrainian vocal music has long been the object of academic research. It is studied both globally, and historically, focusing on the work of individual creative figures who contributed to the improvement of the vocal and choral culture of Ukraine. A. Bohenok and L. Orlovska studied the choral school of A. Avdievsky in the context of the development of the Ukrainian choral tradition (Bohenok, Orlovska, 2020). The vocal work of V. Bezkorovaynyi in the context of Ukrainian music of the first half of the 20th century was studied by N. Kosanyak (Kosanyak, 2019). A. Mar- tynyuk's scientific article is devoted to the paradigm of spiritual connection, where the work of V. Rozhko in the Ukrainian choral school is the key, which is a valuable art historical development (Martynyuk, 2018). As a result of the research conducted by N. A. Belyk-Zolotareva, the opera-choral heritage of Ukrainian vocal culture has a time-space symphonic, which is realized by the method of opera-chorus symphonic and the principle of opera-chorus suite. “For the national opera of the second half of the 20th century. Characteristic variations of the dramatic functions of the choral factor, the actualization of a cappella choral opera, the general dynamism of historical-artistic development” (Belik-Zolotareva, 2017, p. 8). So, questions related to Ukrainian vocal art in the aspect of stage performance remain relevant. However, a specialized education is necessary for high-quality vocal performance. Higher education of future vocalists and future vocal teachers is also an urgent task for the development of modern vocal art. The purpose of the chapter is to consider the peculiarities of Ukrainian vocal music in the aspect of performance and improvement of pedagogical vocal education. To achieve the goal, the author of this chapter sets the following tasks: • On the basis of modern scientific literature, consider the peculiarities of Ukrainian vocal music. • Describe the activities of the outstanding Ukrainian singer and teacher H. Sukhorukova as an example of performing and pedagogical skills. • Consider modern methods of vocal pedagogy that will contribute to the im- provement of vocal and performance skills. In the process of solving scientific problems, modern general scientific methods were used, such as analysis, synthesis, descriptive method, method of contextual analysis, method of interpretation, and presentation of the personal executive and pedagogical experience of the author of the chapter. uk_UA
